Survival in the forest: day 1

We are heading Towards the Bale sudden Nature Reserve and past deeper into the wilderness, with limited equipment and without food and water. The biggest challenge would be to handle liquids because we did not have access to water bottles or pans.Survival is the toughest.

Below each image is taken real and indicating the situation we are facing into the wild.

In the first few hours we were up and spinning and enjoying our challenge. The weather that was there was a thick layer of fog that was lying and pressing over us. With poor visibility and high humidity, we knew it would be tough to catch a fire later in the evening.

During the winter, some storms have ravaged and they have left fallen trees and huge root crops. Root rolls or "Root traps" should be shown great respect as they can again violently strike and crush arms and legs. It is most dangerous when the tree releases the slope, which allows the root rolls to move. We contented ourselves with a fist dry moss and moved on from the death trap.

Still down the coast but now it was time to search us further into the forest to find more fresh water and better access to food. We moved deeper into the forest and finally reached the Baletjärnen which is a crystal clear pond with a bottom covered with fallen trees.

Finally fresh water, but still it had to wait! During the spring, the water level is higher and the risk is then greater that animal waste, soil, carcasses and other debris will go down into the water. Therefore, we chose to wait until we had a solution on how to clean the water.

With the onset of fluid deficiency and a throbbing headache, I instead started chewing on a wide-eyed twig. Since we were in a nature reserve, which does not give us the right to collect firewood, we had no choice but to seek ourselves further away from the pond. We moved through the woods again and then came out to a rocky area with lots of pine. Here was a lone birch that we made an attempt to get out of saw.

During the spring, up to 3 liters of liquid can be obtained from the birch by making a 2 cm deep hole and passing the liquid down into a container. We made a small hole with the survival knife to be as gentle as possible on the birch. Then we took the cord from my spark plug and made a simple knot that we pressed into the hole on the birch and the other end had to go down into the plastic bag. We left the bag hanging in the tree and trudged on to find a campsite.

The fog was still thick, but we found a pine that was suitable for camp. We were sure we were in front of an ant, which turned out to be something completely different. The plan was to lay out heather like an insulating mattress. Then we would pull the press cover over the heather to protect us from moisture from the hill. In the third step, we would angle the press awning as a slant for protection against rain.

We looked around and devised a strategy for which wood we would use to succeed in getting a fire in the best way. We chose dead trees because they were plenty of them and we would burn the least calories to collect them.

The disadvantage was that all the wood was very wet, so we had to sort fewer twigs carefully and let the fire grow warm slowly. This is to make it possible to dry the larger branches. If the fire is not warm enough and you throw on a magnify and for wet firewood, the fire will go out.The fire begins to rise and we had laid out the coarser branches around the fire so that they can dry quickly and efficiently. Finally, when we felt that the fire was under control, we could focus on clamping an aluminum blanket above the fire to reflect the heat towards us where we slept. Then we folded up the tarpaulin so we got a roof and protection against rain. During the night we had a temperature of around 5 + ° C so we had to use hot stones and a wide fireplace to keep warm.

When sleeping outdoors in cold weather keep in mind that:

1. Work your body by moving before you go to bed.
2. Get off your clothes so that the heat from the fire is not reflected on your clothes and bounce off. Take off your jacket, squeeze in a fetal position and put it as a blanket over you and lie still and create a hot air bubble. If it is extremely cold then you can breathe through the jack arm to protect your face.
3. Work efficiently and improve your camp and make sure you protect yourself from wind, rain and cold.

Remember! The most important insulation is beneath you.

Survival in the forest: day 3

After a cold night, another morning comes. The fog was still above us, making the forest wet and sour. In the camp we had managed to get away from rain and moisture, so it felt good to start the day fairly dry.

The plan for the day was to go down to the sea, and try to find a canning or similar. Our biggest problem was still the drinking water, so an empty can give us the opportunity to boil water.
Now we could also go and drink the lovely birch juice, from the birch we put on vintage the day before. It would certainly be at least a liter and give us a supplement of sugars, magnesium and calcium.

… Or how about that!?

Once at the birch we had not received more than 1ltr in the bag, which setback! Birches end up giving up saws when the leaves have burst out enough. It must mean that we were out late to be able to extract more saws than that. The little shot that was, however, was welcoming and refreshing. We returned a couple of times the next day to get a few extra drops of birch juice.

The breakfast consisted of a beard.

Lichen is a fungus and algae in symbiosis. The beard is sensitive to air pollution and is therefore a positive sight when it shows that the air is clean. The beard has a bad taste that can be removed by a leaching process. You mix coal from deciduous trees with water and then lay the lava down. Depending on the amount of carbon / water and how long it is allowed, different Ph values are obtained. It can achieve the same Ph as chlorine and neutralize the bitter taste.

Watch out for the rare but poisonous werewolf (knock out the respiratory organs). It is recognized by the strong yellow / green color. We fixed water and I picked up new shots of the disputed fern Örnbräken. Here you do not eat eagle bugs because it is believed to be carcinogenic and has a number of other side effects. In Asia, the eagle brew is a delicacy and is part of Korea's national dish.

We discussed the matter and eventually chose to eat them. We encourage you not to do likewise! Choose Stensöta instead. On the cliffs there was a finished fireplace with a grill that was perfect for grilling the ferns. They tasted soil and marshland but both gave us a nice feeling of saturation. The water got the better with a sour taste of lovely blueberry rice. In the spring, the blueberry rice has small shoots that are full of vitamin C and can be eaten as they are.

The easiest way to absorb energy is to boil shots and twigs directly in water. Make tea as often as possible on pine cones, shoots from spruce and blueberry rice.Back to the camp and we made a brave attempt to bring water in a plastic bag, which was not so easy.

But it went perfect.

Back in the camp, we start collecting firewood. The thick fog has just released and to our great surprise we were not in front of an ant that we had first thought. What we had in front of us were burnt trees and mossy cliffs, straight track down to the sea. It shows how disoriented you can get by having a sight of a few meters in front of you.

Survival in the forest: day 3

Now it was time for us to move home. We had a fluid deficiency as it has been difficult to boil enough water in the broken beer can. Without food is one thing, but without water comes nausea and dizziness soon
.
You can manage for several weeks without food, but if you do not get water, you can be completely knocked out and powerless after 3 days. Fluid deficiency of 3% of body weight (approx. 2.5 liters of fluid), can impair working ability by 25%.

We moved slowly along the path and often paused. It is difficult to imagine how slowly one moves with some food in the stomach and without water. The psyche is usually the first thing to fail and then it is important to remember that:

When you can no longer cope, you use 40% of your total maximum capacity. We went back and were able to finish at the top! Almost fun that you wanted to follow us and we will see you next time in the wilderness!

How to Create a Water Filter | How to make Water Filter

Making use of what nature has to offer means that packing becomes much easier, especially if you do not have to bring a liter of water with you. Making your own water filter is a simple and effective way to arrange your own water directly from nature. However, there is no guarantee that it will be completely clean and therefore it is always best to boil the water before drinking it.

Water is something that is vital to man. You should get at least 2.5 liters of water a day and much more in heat and during hard work. Most streams and lakes have potable water. What one should keep in mind is that the water sources are higher up than the settlements and that they are not close to major urban centers and factories.

Have a habit of taking running water into streams because stagnant water is more favorable for bacteria to grow in. There is more healthy water than this!

To make water filter you need this:

• Containers
• Sphagnum moss
• Peat
•Charcoal
•Small stones

Process to follow:

Put the white moss in the container and then find the peat you find on the marsh.

Peat is a material that occurs in nature and consists of dead plants that decompose in humid conditions. The peat to be used you will find a few decimeters down to half a meter (Low Humidified). If you take peat deeper, the potting has gone too far (High Humidified), which is clearly visible on the color and smell.

Crush the coal using a stone and mix it with the peat. The amount of carbon should be half the amount of peat.

Then put in the stones and make holes in the bottom of the container.

Your water filter is now ready to use and you can easily fill your bag with purified water.
Awesome!

If you don't feel like making your own filter, there are water purification tablets that work great.

I will survive | I will survive lyrics | I will survive song

When it comes to survival word there is one famous song which comes in mind on every camping that is "I Will Survive" is a hit melody previously performed by American vocalist Gloria Gaynor, discharged in October 1978. It was composed by Freddie Perren and Dino Fekaris.

What to do in bleeding | How to stop bleeding

An accident has occurred and we have injured ourselves or one of our companions has been injured. Blood is flowing, and bleeding is not stopping, which we must stop. This will save our or others' lives.

This situation is not uncommon in the extreme conditions that survival or outdoor adventures can offer. It often happens that a person gets worse than he or she expects. Hence, we suggest that you be extra cautious.

However, if an accident does happen, there are a few things you can and should do.

Help with bleeding:

Press the highly injured area just above the wound so that you can stop the flow of blood and help the blood clot.

Make a turnstile with a rope, belt or piece of clothing. Fasten with a loop over the bleeding site. Over a period of time but not too long - it is best to loosen and tighten for 15-20 minutes so that the spot or limb will receive the required amount of blood. Inability to do so may bring about removal.

If you have a leg or arm, keep them bent.In case of mild bleeding, when you do not need a turnstile, you can only put a bandage. It can also be made of clothing, but it is essential to keep them clean so as not to get an infection.

If nosebleeds occur, bend your head back and place a cotton cloth or gauze swab. It is a good idea to lie back and relax, thus reducing the tension in your blood vessels and stopping the bleeding faster.

We would be glad if you would also share your skills in dealing with such situations. And remember, always be very careful and plan and think about your actions and their consequences.
