After a cold night, another morning comes. The fog was still above us, making the forest wet and sour. In the camp we had managed to get away from rain and moisture, so it felt good to start the day fairly dry.

The plan for the day was to go down to the sea, and try to find a canning or similar. Our biggest problem was still the drinking water, so an empty can give us the opportunity to boil water.
Now we could also go and drink the lovely birch juice, from the birch we put on vintage the day before. It would certainly be at least a liter and give us a supplement of sugars, magnesium and calcium.

Once at the birch we had not received more than 1ltr in the bag, which setback! Birches end up giving up saws when the leaves have burst out enough. But it went perfect.

Back in the camp, we start collecting firewood. The thick fog has just released and to our great surprise we were not in front of an ant that we had first thought. What we had in front of us were burnt trees and mossy cliffs, straight track down to the sea. It shows how disoriented you can get by having a sight of a few meters in front of you.

Now it was time for us to move home. We had a fluid deficiency as it has been difficult to boil enough water in the broken beer can. Without food is one thing, but without water comes nausea and dizziness soon
You can manage for several weeks without food, but if you do not get water, you can be completely knocked out and powerless after 3 days. Fluid deficiency of 3% of body weight (approx. 2.5 liters of fluid), can impair working ability by 25%.

Making your own water filter is a simple and effective way to arrange your own water directly from nature. However, there is no guarantee that it will be completely clean and therefore it is always best to boil the water before drinking it.

Water is something that is vital to man. You should get at least 2.5 liters of water a day and much more in heat and during hard work. Most streams and lakes have potable water. What one should keep in mind is that the water sources are higher up than the settlements and that they are not close to major urban centers and factories.

Have a habit of taking running water into streams because stagnant water is more favorable for bacteria to grow in. There is more healthy water than this!

To make water filter you need this:
• Containers
• Sphagnum moss
• Peat
•Small stones

Process to follow:
Put the white moss in the container and then find the peat you find on the marsh.

Peat is a material that occurs in nature and consists of dead plants that decompose in humid conditions. The peat to be used you will find a few decimeters down to half a meter (Low Humidified). If you take peat deeper, the potting has gone too far (High Humidified), which is clearly visible on the color and smell.

Crush the coal using a stone and mix it with the peat. The amount of carbon should be half the amount of peat.

Then put in the stones and make holes in the bottom of the container.

Your water filter is now ready to use and you can easily fill your bag with purified water.

An accident has occurred and we have injured ourselves or one of our companions has been injured. Blood is flowing,and bleeding is not stopping, which we must stop. This will save our or others' lives.

This situation is not uncommon in the extreme conditions that survival or outdoor adventures can offer. It often happens that a person gets worse than he or she expects. Hence, we suggest that you be extra cautious.

However, if an accident does happen, there are a few things you can and should do.

Help with bleeding:

Press the highly injured area just above the wound so that you can stop the flow of blood and help the blood clot.

Make a turnstile with a rope, belt or piece of clothing. Fasten with a loop over the bleeding site. Over a period of time but not too long - it is best to loosen and tighten for 15-20 minutes so that the spot or limb will receive the required amount of blood. Inability to do so may bring about removal.

If you have a leg or arm, keep them bent.In case of mild bleeding, when you do not need a turnstile, you can only put a bandage. It can also be made of clothing, but it is essential to keep them clean so as not to get an infection.

If nosebleeds occur, bend your head back and place a cotton cloth or gauze swab. It is a good idea to lie back and relax, thus reducing the tension in your blood vessels and stopping the bleeding faster.
